Popular Spinning Lures
The range of artificial lures gets larger every year. We include the
more common and well tried lures. Should you find difficulty in attracting a fish, one
reason may be found in the size and colour of your lure. This is particularly so when
spinning in bright weather. Try smaller and more natural colours i.e. copper, brown and
gold, brass or a combination of these colours. Alternatively, try shock tactics by using
fluorescent colours, which can often stir up a fish when nothing else will do the job.
The following lures have been extremely successful over the years:
Kilty Flying 'C' - sizes 12 grams, 15 grams and 25 grams; Mepps Spinners - sizes: 0, 1,
& 2; Abu Droppen - sizes: 2 grams, 4 grams, 6 grams, 8 grams; Devon Minnows - sizes:
3/4", 1" & 11/4"; Abu Toby - sizes: 4 grams, 7 grams, & 10 grams.
The above lures are successful for salmon and sea-trout.
